Resin, rubble, trolley

130 x 100 x 50cm

The base of a statue torn at the ankles lies battered in a trolley full of rubble, begging the question what happened to cause such destruction, where is the rest of the statue and who is picking up the pieces.

The statue is based on Rodin's Adam, a contorted sculpture of the first man, who's remains were found at ground zero after falling from a gallery at the top of the world trade centre.

With building detritus and a commercial trolley as its pedestal, the feet are no longer the base of a strong and beautiful object, but a sculpture in itself, an admonition of the fall of man amongst the rubble of a crumbling capitalist society.
